After Teddy woke up he and I headed to breakfast. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast (waffles, fruit, toast, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc).  Teddy ate half of a waffle and some fruit.  Dylan, Maddy and Ty joined us for breakfast. Once we were finished we woke up Thom and said its as time for the pool!

Teddy was much more willing to try things in this pool.  He kicked his legs and splashed.  It helped that Ty was in the pool and had some toys to play with.  Teddy kept trying to put his face in the water and drink it; we need to work on that. We finished pool time by sticking our feet in the hot tub.

Once we packed up we hit the road again. We decided to stop at the University of Wyoming bookstore. Thom collects stickers on his cooler of the different locations his cooler has traveled and so we decided to get one in Wyoming. Teddy also got a new University of Wyoming shirt that he will be sporting this trip.

The route to Steamboat Springs from Laramie is very remote.  After a gas fill up we were on our way.

There was some bad road construction on our way into Steamboat Springs which slowed us down, but we made it! Within a half hour of us arriving everyone was here. We arrived rather early before check-in, but one of the 2-bedroom suites was available so we all moved our stuff into that room and as the other rooms were cleaned and checked we moved in.  Dustin and Sarah are sharing a two bedroom suite with Chris and Aribi. Because there are no babies traveling with them we have deemed that the “hang-out room”.  The Kedley’s are sharing with the Schneebergers and the Wallace’s have their own one bedroom.  We are all in the same hallway so that is very nice and convenient.

Once everyone was in their rooms we decided to go to an early dinner because many people had not eaten lunch.  We went to Mahogany Ridge Brewery and Grill.  I had the emerald burger which had pesto- it was wonderful! Other people seemed to really enjoy the cajun chicken sandwich! Everyone agreed the food was delicious.  Thom and Dustin ordered a flight of beers which had nine two-ounce beers from their brewery ranging from light to dark.  It was served on a lazy susan which was cute. The bartender made drinks very strong there. I had a moscow mule and I think it was made with gin which I had never had before; I’ve always had them with vodka. Aribi and Chris got bloody marys and it was very heavy on the horseradish and vodka.  They were good, but very strong!

After dinner we headed back for a little pool time.  The water was chilly to start but it warmed up as you swam around.  Teddy and Ty are pretty comfortable in the pool! Shirley wasn’t overly fond of the cold water. The big boys enjoyed playing in the pool too! The girls were more fond of the hot tub.

Once we were back in the room it was time for more chatting and fun. Dustin started the evening with a toast of Johnny Walker Blue Label ($250 a bottle!) but it was all for a good celebration because he made an exciting announcement! The evening continued with much laughter. We played codenames (girls vs. boys, of course). It is essentially giving clues to get your team to guess certain words. If you guess incorrectly the point could go to the other team or be the “word of doom” which is an instant end of game.  Everyone had a great time!

Celebrating and being together went late into the evening. I’m sure we will be tired tomorrow!
